Interior renovations for the San Mateo County Historical Association at the Old County Courthouse building which houses the county's History Museum in downtown Redwood City.
Work included demolition and construction of a new kitchen facility and meeting room, restroom improvements and select demoltion and tenant improvements to the historic courtroom 'A' which included full restoration of an antique stained glass skylight, structural steel seismic strengthening, new HVAC and fire sprinklers and new finishes throughout. Additionally, a new fire sprinkler system was extended into the east and west galleries and up into the 116 foot historic dome, the building's signature element.
* The San Mateo County Courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Sensitivity, proper handling and complete protection to all historic finishes and features were maintained by Gonsalves & Stronck throughout all phases of construction.
